i love LA
i tried to stalk celebrities today. tamely. i went to the coffee bean and tea leaf on Sunset, where stars reportedly get coffee. i didn't see any. but, on a high note, the boy who made my coco mocah (not as good as a brownie frapp) not only said "stine" correctly, but he spelled my name in chocolate syrup on top. (i hate whip.) he called my name, and i said, "oh my gosh. i'm so excited you said my name right." and he said, "i cheated. i heard you tell louis/ernie/franco. but.... i spelled your name in chocalate (cute look.) isn't that cute?" he offered. i obliged.
meanwhile, all sorts of other bad-mood-inducing things happened today, a total of 5 things that each made me very angry, and their cumulative effect is near to making me cry. i hate that. and i try to talk to someone... i call my mom but i remember i'm kinda mad at her anyway, and i call s. and dang it, i can't discern whether his listening is sincerity or ambition. but chris is supposed to call me back and he'll listen to me. good old kickstand.
fabulous: the andy warhol exhibit. i wish he were alive. i would seriously campaign to be his girlfriend. like, i've never liked anyone enough to pull out all the "i'm the best thing life is gonna offer you" stops, but for andy (RIP) i would. his work was SO amazing... he was such a genius in his time. he was for sure smarter than anyone... and he had insight. and raw talent. and humor. and wit. of course, jasper johns is still my favorite but i never wanted to go to a party w. him or anything. me and andy? party till the break of dawn.
i also love LA. is that stupid? get a load of this: i don't care. i really love that city. traffic and all. it's so... metro. and alive. vivacious. the area around MOCA is super nice. really cutting edge... everything. architecture. art, of course. and up on sunset, such good clothes (as i drooled in the windows of kenneth cole, nicole miller.) and me in my new gap outlet jeans. that don't quite fit in the waist. (blame it on the ass. i always do.) back to the point: i just adore the skyline, and the 101 (when meg is fully fueled) is so quaint.
2 things i loved from the old jimmy cd:
"here, you can be anything... anything that scares you. I think that scares you."
and ray this remided me of you: not really you but your melodrama:
"if i don't let myself be happy now, when? if not now, when?"
